The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement is an independent, not for profit organisation which opened in January 1996 and is the largest provider of grief and bereavement education in Australia. Registered as a public benevolent institution the Centre receives operational funding through the state cancer and palliative care program of the Victorian Department of Health.
Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) Members and the AFDA Trademark represents security, care and professional service. Formed in 1935, AFDA is the only national funeral service organisation with Member firms in every State and Territory.
The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages Victoria (BDM) is involved in some of the most significant moments in the lives of Victorians. We work hard to provide a helpful and empathetic service and take pride in the records we keep for you, the Victorian community.
BDM is responsible for: Recording all births, adoptions, marriages and deaths in Victoria. They also offer records to people looking to trace their family history, as well as provide data services to government agencies, universities and medical institutions for research and planning purposes.
Department of Health, Cemeteries and Crematoria (Victorian Government) can provide information on public cemeteries, crematoria and cemetery trusts in Victoria for various stakeholders; Victoria’s Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulation Unit, links to legislation governing the operations of Victoria’s cemetery and crematoria system including the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003 and Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2005, the appointment of cemetery trust members, relevant forms, newsletters and fee information for cemetery trusts.

The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is a Statutory Authority established by the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act 1996 and is a successor in law to the former State Insurance Office. VMIA assists State Government departments in the areas of risk management and acts as an insurer for departments and government agencies.
