Professional Development

We provide professional development and training opportunities to our members. Members benefit from industry specific, value for money training courses – covering topics that are relevant to our members. Our general meetings also provide members with an opportunity to network and discuss ideas with other industry professionals.

Our General Meetings

We hold four general meetings each year at member locations throughout metropolitan Melbourne and country locations. Meeting topics include industry trends, development of positioning statements for discussion with the Department of Health, compliance, regulatory controls, training, industrial relations, operational and business management issues. Members are invited to attend these meetings and comprehensive minutes are circulated to all members after each meeting.

Our Training courses

We offer a variety of courses specifically designed to suit the needs of our members. If we do not have the course you are looking for, please let us know and we will do all we can to support your needs.

In Summary

  • CCAV provides ongoing professional development opportunities for members and their staff at price advantage member rates.
  • CCAV conducts four general meetings each year at member locations throughout metropolitan Melbourne and country areas. Members are invited to attend the meeting and often lunch afterwards. They receive comprehensive minutes of each meeting regardless of attendance.
  • CCAV members may participate in surveys, and other research projects that let them influence the association’s agenda.
  • CCAV members are provided with the opportunity to network with colleagues at the bi-monthly meetings, the annual general meeting held in August of each year, a Christmas lunch meeting, and other training sessions provided.
  • CCAV acknowledges the difficulties experienced by many smaller cemetery trusts operated by dedicated volunteers and endeavours to offer inexpensive services, often subsidised by the larger association members.
  • CCAV encourages members to become involved in a range of standing committees, issue-specific committees and interest groups to facilitate broad representation in relation to significant issues and activities. In joining one of the many committees, members are in a position to shape the direction of the association and the profession.

“Partnership is not a posture but a process – a continuous process that grows stronger each year as we devote ourselves to common tasks”
